Great River Hospice Plans Volunteer Training

Great River Hospice is looking for additional volunteers to help meet the needs of people at end-of-life and their families in Des Moines, Henry, Lee and Louisa counties. A four-part training is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. April 29 and 30, and May 6 and 7, at Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. Washington Road, West Burlington.
Hospice volunteers are needed primarily to help patients and their families in their homes. They also can help the program in other ways, such as providing companionship to patients, running errands for families and helping at Great River Hospice House.
People interested in volunteering must pass a criminal background check and be at least 16 years old. Registration and completion of application materials is required before the training begins.
