Great River Hematology and Oncology Recognized for Quality Laboratory Services

August 12, 2010

Great River Hematology and Oncology has earned laboratory accreditation by COLA, a nonprofit organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement and accreditation. Accreditation is based on meeting rigid quality standards, demonstrating continued accuracy in proficiency testing and passing a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.

Great River Hematology and Oncology is a service of Great River Medical Center. Diane Hendrix, Laboratory supervisor, and Deanna Scott, technician, completed the accreditation process. Surveyors gave the laboratory a perfect inspection score.

COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine, American Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association.
