Great River Triathlon Training Center Offers Two Clinics

The Triathlon Training Center at Great River Medical Center is offering two day-long triathlon-training clinics for area triathletes and other endurance athletes. The clinics are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, March 27, at Great River Center for Rehab and Clinics, 1401 W. Agency Rd, West Burlington, Iowa.
Clinic faculty includes coaches and trainers with the Triathlon Training Center at Great River Medical Center. Besides presentations and demonstrations, the clinics will provide hands-on training drills opportunities. Participants should bring swimming, running, and biking clothes and gear to the appropriate clinics.
The first clinic (Saturday, Feb. 27) features the following presentation topics and training drills:
- Running drills
- Running economy training
- Running skills
- Strength and flexibility drills
- Swimming drills
- Swimming economy training
- Swimming skills
All swimming presentations and drills will take place at the Burlington Area Community YMCA-YWCA. Transportation will be provided between the Center for Rehab and Clinics and the YMCA-YWCA.
The second clinic's (Saturday, March 27) presentation topics and training drills are:
- Cycling drills
- Cycling Economy training
- Cycling skills
- Elite training and racing
- The art of transitions
- Transition drills and demonstrations
