Heritage Park Pharmacy Fills 1 Millionth Prescription

April 12, 2005 – Heritage Park Pharmacy filled its 1 millionth prescription Monday, April 4. The pharmacy is located in the Eastman Plaza on Great River Health Systems’ campus in West Burlington. One of his two prescriptions made Ed Bailey of Gladstone, Ill., the lucky winner.

“I don’t know if filling the 1 millionth prescription on the hospital’s fifth anniversary was coincidence or fate,” said pharmacy manager Tom Greene. “We thought it would be in the middle of the month. The Baileys have been regular customers for many years. They’re wonderful people and very pleasant to work with.”

Bailey received these gifts from Heritage Park Pharmacy: a $500 prescription credit; $100 certificates from the Burlington/West Burlington Chamber of Commerce and two grocery stores; and $50 certificates to four area restaurants.

Heritage Park Pharmacy opened Dec. 8, 1982, in the Mercy Professional Burlington. Greene and office manager Kris Vanerstrom, the only two employees, filled 36 prescriptions that day. Now the pharmacy has 12 employees and fills 250 to 300 prescriptions daily for more than 31,000 customers.
