GRMC Ambulance Traffic Temporarily Diverted During Construction

March 15, 2005 – Construction of Great River Medical Center’s new gastrointestinal center will begin the week of March 21. As part of the construction project, cranes will be located near the Emergency Department ambulance entrance to place structural steel for the center. As a safety measure for patients, staff and visitors, traffic will be temporarily restricted at the Emergency Department’s ambulance entrance.

Traffic to the ambulance entrance will be diverted to the Emergency Department’s Walk-in Entrance on the west side of the building during the following time periods:

• Monday, March 21 through Wednesday, March 23
• Thursday, April 7 through Monday, April 11
• Wednesday, April 20 through Friday, May 27

Construction of the gastrointestinal center is part of an extensive $15 million hospital expansion project. The project involves changes and additions to the hospital’s Behavioral Health, Surgical Services, Rehabilitation Services and Diagnostic Imaging departments.
