Brune Publishes Article for Nurse Executives

May 15, 2003 – An article by Sheila Brune, R.N., appears in the American Organization of Nurse Executivesí new monograph, Healthy Work Environments: Lessons from the Field. Brune is director of Utilization Management and the Living History program at Great River Medical Center.

The article about the Living History program is published in the first volume in a series written by nursing leaders who are creating positive and healthy work environments that attract and retain nurses.

The Living History program was inspired by Great River Medical Centerís commitment to its customer-service values. Combing patientsí medical histories with personal histories written by trained storywriters from throughout the hospital shows patients that they are valued. It also helps caregivers understand patientsí actions, responses and behaviors.
