Infectious Disease Physician Joins Great River Medicine Specialists

Souha Haydoura, M.D., a physician who specializes in the treatment of infectious diseases, has joined the medical staff at Great River Medicine Specialists.

An infectious-disease specialist is an internal-medicine or pediatric physician who diagnoses and treats infections affecting a variety of areas including the sinuses, heart, brain, lungs, urinary tract, bowel, bones and pelvic organs. Infectious-disease specialists treat infections caused by bacteria, viruses (including the human immunodeficiency virus), fungi and parasites. They also have training in immunology (how the body fights infection), epidemiology (how infections spread) and infection control.

Dr. Haydoura received her medical degree from Lebanese University. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the American University of Beirut. Dr. Haydoura is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Great River Medicine Specialists is a multispecialty physician practice. Besides infectious diseases, the practice provides care in internal medicine. Great River Medicine Specialists is in Suite 304 in the Eastman Plaza, 1223 S. Gear Ave., West Burlington, Iowa (next to Great River Medical Center).
