Great River Center for Rehab and Clinics Offers Balance Screenings

March 19, 2010

Great River Center for Rehab and Clinics staff will provide free balance screenings from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, in the Blackhawk Room at the Center for Rehab and Clinics, 1401 W. Agency Rd., West Burlington.

Each year, more than 11 million people visit their physicians for balance problems. This condition has many feelings and sensations. Some people may feel dizzy, lightheaded, a spinning sensation or faint. Others may feel as if they are moving when they are not. Balance problems often occur with other symptoms. For example, some people also may experience nausea, anxiety, hearing loss, pressure or fullness in their head or ears, or ringing in the ears.

The balance screenings take 15 to 30 minutes to complete. Appointments are required. Those interested in scheduling an appointment should call the Center for Rehab and Clinics at (319) 768-4100.
