Hospital and SCC Offer Free Pitching and Throwing Skills Clinic

Coaches and health professionals from Great River Medical Center and Southeastern Community College are teaming to provide a Baseball and Softball Pitching and Throwing Clinic for Little-League-age (9 to 14) and high-school athletes, and their coaches and parents.
The clinic is scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Southeastern Community College, Loren Walker Arena, 1500 W. Agency Rd., West Burlington, Iowa.
Clinic sessions for coaches, parents and high-school athletes are:
- Dynamic Warmup for the Overhead Athlete
- Pitching Mechanics for Baseball
- Pitching Mechanics for Softball
- Preventing Overuse Injuries
- Throwing Mechanics Drills
Sessions for Little League athletes are:
- Injury Prevention
- Mechanics of Pitching and Throwing
- Warmup Activity
Clinic faculty members are Southeastern Community College coaches and Great River Medical Center doctors of physical therapy and athletic trainers. Most sessions are hands-on, and participants will have drills practice time with clinic instructors and members of the 2009 Southeastern Community College baseball and softball teams.
