Great River Health Systems Vies for National Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award

October 25, 2005 – Great River Health Systems has been nominated for the American Psychological Association’s National Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize organizations that make a commitment to workplace programs and policies that foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance.

The health system received the Iowa Psychological Association’s 2005 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award this past April.

Besides information provided by the health system, employees were asked to complete an extensive questionnaire. Judging will be based on employees’ responses to questions in these categories:

• Communication
• Employee growth and development
• Employee involvement
• Employee recognition
• Health and safety
• Work-life balance

Winners will be recognized by the American Psychological Association March 4, 2006, in Washington, D.C.
