Great River Medical Center Auxiliary Announces Scholarship Recipients

May 3, 2004 – Great River Medical Center’s Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to eight area students who are pursuing college degrees in health-related fields. Scholarships were awarded for three different categories and amounts.

The scholarship recipients are:

High school students ($500 scholarships)

• Andrea Cling, Mediapolis, nursing, Southeastern Community College

• Elizabeth Hnizdo, Winfield, nursing, Southeastern Community College

• Jessica McCrory, Burlington, pre-medicine, Drake University

• Alicia Meierotto, Mt. Pleasant, pre-pharmacy, Kirkwood Community College

Continuing education ($1,500)

• Jennifer Knotts, Burlington, nursing, Southeastern Community College

• Kathleen Welsh, Biggsville, Ill., nursing, Southeastern Community College

Nontraditional students ($2,500 scholarships)

• Diana Aliprandi, Danville, nursing, Southeastern Community College

• Dale Lesher, Ft. Madison, nursing, Southeastern Community College

Each year, Great River Medical Center’s Auxiliary accepts and reviews scholarship applications for students who wish to pursue a health-care career.
