New Club at Great River Medical Center Targets Seniors
August 8, 2003 – Great River Medical Center has been a part of the community for 108 years. Now, the hospital is inviting people age 55 or older to become part of their new community—The Great Club. Membership is free, and the rewards are plentiful.
Gentle exercise is the topic of the first quarterly Great Club meeting, which is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Blackhawk Room, Great River Center for Rehabilitation, 1401 W. Agency Rd., West Burlington.
Participants will learn and practice specific exercises led by exercise physiologist Jody Ellison, M.S. Also, Connie Borschel, R.N., B.S., care coordinator at the hospital’s Joint Care Center, will discuss hip/knee pain and available treatments, and the hospital’s Joint Care Center. Refreshments will be available.

Great Club membership includes: quarterly newsletter featuring health and nutrition information, recipes and the latest news about Great River Medical Center; quarterly programs that combine education and socialization; and special events that may include entertainment and bus trips.
